Mission Statement

The Finance Committee:

  • Consist of nine registered voters. No member may be an elected or appointed town official or employee.
  • Appointed by the town moderator, the chairman of the Finance Committee and the chairman of the Board of Selectmen.
  • Appointed for three year terms
  • Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month
  • Reviews the Town and School operating budgets and capital budget.  
  • Conducts at least one public hearing on the proposed budgets and issues printed recommendations and detailed explanations of all finance articles in an annual finance committee report.
  • Presents its recommendations to town meeting and is given first opportunity to move amendments to the budget.
