Medway Police Department Traffic Enforcement Posts

Traffic enforcements

Since Sunday, the Medway Police have set up twenty-one traffic enforcement posts and executed seven enforcement shifts targeting speeding, distracted driving, seat belt usage and other violations. As a result, officers have stopped 140 offenders and issued 136 tickets.  Offenses included four criminal complaints and an arrest. An investigatory stop by Officer Tony Nigro lead to the seizure of a large amount of illegal prescription drugs and an individual’s arrest for possession with intent to distribute a class E substance (18 counts).

The other areas of focus this week by the police department included Maple Street, Oakland Street, Main Street, West Street, Coffee Street, the intersection of Village and Oakland Streets, and Summer Street (in the area of the high school).

In addition to enforcement posts, officers set-up distracted driving patrols at Summer Street & Milford Streets, Main Street & Slocum Place and Village Street (in the area of School Street).

An OUI Patrol last night did not result in any arrests, which is encouraging.
