“What We Do” -- A new initiative by the Medway Finance Committee

If you have ever wondered what some Town Departments or committees do, tune in to the Finance Committee on Wednesday, December 13, at 7 pm. You can listen to the discussions of the Animal Control Officer, Board of Health Director, Historical Commission, Director of the Council on Aging, and the Director of Communications.

The Finance Committee is embarking on a new program during the quiet months of the year when it is not reviewing budgets or Town Meeting warrants.   “What We Do” discussions will help committee members gain insight into what these departments and volunteer groups do, their mission statements, successes, ongoing efforts, and plans.

Brian Cowan, Chair of the Finance Committee, noted that “these groups rarely, if ever, come before the Finance Committee, and these discussions will help us understand their function, should they have increased need for funding.   Residents can learn a lot as well, just by tuning into the meeting.”

There are plans to have additional groups in January, February and March.  This initiative is anticipated to blossom into annual meetups with these groups.

Medway Cable broadcasts various meetings on Comcast Channels 8 and 11 and Verizon Channel 36.
