Update on SALMON Senior Living Community

SALMON Health and Retirement, which owns and operates communities such as The Willows Premier Retirement Communities for Active Adults in Westborough and Worcester, will be constructing a new senior living community at 261 Village Street in Medway. The Planning and Economic Development Board issued a special permit for this development in April 2016.

The 58 acre campus will include 54 independent living freestanding homes/cottages with attached garages, 15 independent living attached homes/cottages with interior parking, 56 independent living apartments in a common building and up to 60 traditional assisted living and 40 memory care assisted living apartments, as well as a medical office building and pavilion.

The campus will be a full-service community offering spacious, maintenance-free, independent living apartment homes and cottages, chef-prepared meals in multiple dining venues, and abundant on-site amenities. These amenities will include a bank, spa, salon/barber shop, fitness center, indoor pool, general store, library, billiards lounge, workshop, creative arts studio, greenhouse, great room equipped with a stage and bar, “pavilion” clubhouse and more for the convenience and enjoyment of the residents.

This campus will also offer assisted living residences for seniors needing a little help with daily routines, featuring private and shared apartments. Residents will receive individual attention from our nurses, dedicated Alzheimer’s professionals, skilled recreation team and expertly trained personal care attendants, and will have access to a range of social services. Residents will also have access to meals, abundant social events and recreational programs, local transportation, community and intergenerational programs and 24-hour emergency response.

The Medway campus will include a medical office building. The suites will largely be geared toward medical professionals serving the age 55+ population,  allowing convenient on-site access to these professionals for the residents living there and the greater Medway community as well.

The site has been designed to take advantage of and maximize the setting and views of the Charles River. Both residents and the general public will have direct access to natural walking paths.

Construction on the site is expected to commence in the fall of 2016.
