Update on Route 109 Transportation Improvement Project:

Update for June 2016

Please be advised that Town Officials attended a pre-construction meeting at Mass DOT this week and were provided the details below.  Highlights from the pre-construction meeting are as follows:

The project completion date is currently scheduled for June 6, 2019.

2016-Clear trees, move utilities, install drainage, culvert.  No winter work planned.

2017-Widen the road, adjust contours, and install street lights/signals.  No winter work planned.

2018-Install sidewalks, paving, plantings.  No winter work planned.

2019-Punchlist items

They will usually work 2 crews, but may expand to 3 or even 4 if they need to.  For drainage crews, one will start at Holliston Street, the other will start at the next drainage low point.  That’s probably around Choate Park.

They work 7-3:30, no weekends at present.  They will not interfere with traffic during rush hour per the spec, so not before 9 am in the roadway.

The State will probably have meetings every two weeks to start.  This will likely change as the job progresses.

Town Officials will continue to update the community as updated information becomes available.
