Road Closures - Sunday, June 7th

traffic control plan

In anticipation of a large turnout for the march scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 p.m., the Medway Police Department has developed a traffic control plan designed to allow the marchers to make their way from the Middle School to Choate Park as safe as possible. Officers will be stationed at the start of the march to assess the crowd.  Depending on its size, a traffic control plan will be put into place.  As the march starts, Holliston Street will be closed at Village, at Main and at Lovering and Coffee. Once the marchers are completely on Main Street as they make their way to Choate Park, Holliston Street will reopen. Once the marchers are on Main Street, eastbound traffic at Main and Franklin will be diverted down Franklin Street to Village Street. Police Motorcycle and Bike units will leapfrog on Main Street closing roads and business entrances while the marchers make their way past. These locations will re-open as the marchers clear. Traffic will have to travel Eastbound. Westbound traffic on Main Street will be halted as the marchers make their way to the park.  Once the marchers are in the park, all roads will re-open. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes during the march. As the final number of participants is unknown, changes may be necessary.
