Farmstand Crew Part-time

Description
Medway Community Farm is seeking multiple part-time sales employees to work the farm stand. Handling the point of sale area is a small part of the job, handling produce and replenishing stock, greeting customers, answering questions and special projects as well as general upkeep of the stand and its environs.

Duties include:
Counting and being responsible for the cash box at the point of sale.
Opening and closing of the farmstand.
Handling sales, cash, credit, as well as snap and hip sales.
Stocking and maintaining the farmstand at all times in a safe and sanitary manner.
Answering questions about produce, as well as the farm.
Helping shareholders with their shares(possibly picking and packing)
Helping Farm staff and Farmer with projects as needed.

Qualifications

Some retail experience
Able to lift 20 lbs as well as useful steps to get in and out of the store and walk-in cooler
Able to stand for long periods
MUST like to engage people, be friendly, and be willing to help
Have reliable transportation
Able to work independently
Need an eye for detail and the willingness to problem solve

Compensation

The pay is $14.25 per hour, including mandatory training time
An employee will earn $1.00 per hour farm credit to be used in the farm stand
The farmstand is open Thursday through Sunday, multiple shifts are available.
