Kinara Lighting - December 26 at 5:00 p.m. Choate Park

post

The community is invited to join together as we light the first candle of the Kinara in celebration of the first day of Kwanzaa.  Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American culture that is held from December 26 to January 1. The annual celebration culminates in a communal feast called Karamu, usually held on the 6th day. We invite the community to gather at Choate Park on Sunday, December 26 at 5:00 p.m. to learn a little bit about Kwanzaa, the principle of the first day which is Umoja, which means unity, and to light the first candle.

We hope you can join us.
