Ground breaking ceremony for Milford Regional in Medway

This morning Select Board Chair Glenn Trindade, Select Board Vice Chair Frank Rossi, Select Board Member Maryjane White, and Town Manager Michael Boynton attended/spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for Milford Regional in Medway.

Glenn Trindade, Select Board Chair, addressed the audience by stating that he was happy to see this project being built as part of the Master Plan. He said he has been a faithful customer of the various Milford Regional Medical facilities and looks forward to having a facility in Medway.

Town Manager Michael Boynton said, "It is an outstanding day for the Town of Medway," and thanked Barbara Saint Andre, Director of Community and Economic Development, Susy Affleck-Childs, Retired Planning and Economic Development Coordinator, and Bridget Graziano, Conservation Agent for their efforts as this project went through multiple layers of Town government.

Dr. Pat McSweeney, Milford Regional Physician's Group President (MRPG), explained that the building would be a 22,000 1-story facility that will house the existing Medway medical practices of Family Medicine and Tri-County Pediatrics as well as an urgent care facility that offers x-rays and will be open 365 days/year. Ed Kelly, President & CEO of Milford Regional, also spoke and shared his view of the five pillars that Milford Regional adheres to when building a new facility: 1. the importance of the people that work in the facility, 2. offering a well-developed physician group, 3. the relationships that are built, 4. community support, and 5. the facilities that offer excellent, local care.

Thank you to Representative Jeff Roy and representatives of Senate President Karen Spilka for attending and offering a formal citation for the project.

The building is projected to open in Spring 2024
