Drinking Water Notification

post

The Medway Board of Health and the Medway Water/Sewer Department are issuing a public drinking water notification. Due to the nationwide supply shortage of Sodium Fluoride (fluoride), the Town’s supply will be depleted this month. Consequently, Town water will not be treated with fluoride for a period of time. Nationwide, drinking water suppliers are running into this problem due to supply chain issues with sourcing. It is estimated that supply chains will open again in 2022.

Please be aware that the lack of fluoride in the Town’s drinking water should not result in an immediate increase in tooth decay in the community. Residents interested in other ways to receive fluoride treatment are encouraged to reach out to their dental provider.
