The Town of Medway is working to complete roadwork that began with water main installations on Winthrop and Highland Streets a year ago.  Work needed to complete the project includes:

  • installation of new sidewalk along the west side of Winthrop Street from Main Street to Cassidy Park;
  • relocate one fire hydrant from the west side to the east side of Winthrop Street;
  • mill Winthrop Street full width from Lovering to Main Streets;
  • pave Winthrop Street from Lovering to Main Streets;
  • replace sidewalk along the east side of Highland Street;
  • pave Highland Street in its entirety.

Work began a week ago with early preparations for sidewalk installations on both Highland and Winthrop.  On April 12th, milling of Winthrop Street began.  During the week of 4/12, prep work will continue for paving and curb installation on both roads.  In addition, Winthrop Street from Lovering to Main will be closed on Tuesday, 4/13, as we relocate one fire hydrant.  The road will be open to residents only.

The week of 4/18, curb and sidewalk installation work will proceed on Winthrop Street.  Curb will also be installed on Highland Street and a small section of curbing on Holliston Street in front of the Middle School.

The week of 4/25, we will be installing sidewalk on Highland Street.

Paving will be performed the week of May 2nd.

Note that this work is very weather dependent and schedules may need to be adjusted.  Refer back to our web page for the latest information or contact the Department of Public Services at 508-533-3275.
