Medway Fire Department Acquires Dry Chemical Truck

The Medway Fire Department recently took delivery of a dry chemical truck, known as Chemical 1, which was put in service in early September. The vehicle, which fully equipped costs $100,000, was purchased with a donation from Exelon. It carries 500 pounds of Purple K extinguishing agent and is capable of battling large electrical fires and flammable liquids fires. It is replacing a rescue truck and is carrying most of the tools and equipment from that truck as well. It is one of only two in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the other being located in Ludlow, MA.
