Congratulations to Patrol Officer Derek Harrington who was promoted to Sergeant in a ceremony on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Medway Police Department. Family, friends and colleagues gathered to watch Selectmen and Town Clerk, Mary Jane White swear in Sgt. Harrington which included a very special moment when retired officer and mentor, David McRoberts pinned the badge on Sgt. Harrington. Derek Harrington has been a huge part of the Medway Police Department.  His career started in 1997 in dispatch, he moved up the ladder to patrol officer in 2002. He has served as a police investigator for the last year and a half.  In addition to his commitment to the Medway Police Department he is also a dedicated member of the Medway community, currently serving in the role as the Head Men's High School Hockey Coach.  He and his wife, Courtney have four children.
