Medway Fire and Police Departments wear pink badges during month of October

breast cancer

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Medway Police and Fire Departments will be wearing pink badges to help raise awareness of this illness.

Breast cancer has affected the lives of so many people. Somewhere in the United States someone’s grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, or very best friend is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes… And every 13 minutes breast cancer claims another life. I am sure we all know someone whose life has been changed by this relentless disease!!!

These badges were made for us by badge manufacturing company, V.H.  Blackinton & Co., located in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts. Blackinton also donated 10% of the cost of each badge equally between two separate cancer charities:

1. The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, which is local to our area, is a charity that has helped many individuals in our region battle Breast Cancer.

2. The Firefighter Cancer Support Network, which provides assistance nationwide to all fire service members and their families in the event of a cancer diagnosis.

If you are able please help us to support these wonderful organizations.
