Volunteers Sought to Serve on Medway’s Economic Development Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals

The Community and Economic Development Department is seeking individuals to serve on two committees staffed by the department: the Economic Development Committee and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Medway Economic Development Committee (EDC) is seeking individuals who live or work in Medway to serve on the committee.  The purpose of the EDC is to promote, encourage and facilitate the development of responsible and properly planned business and industrial growth within the community in order to expand and strengthen the local economy and diversify Medway’s tax base.  The EDC typically meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm at the Medway Senior Center.  Appointments to the EDC are made by the Medway Planning and Economic Development Board.

The Medway Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is seeking interested residents to fill an associate member position available on the Board.  Meetings are held the first and third Wednesday evening (7:30pm) of the month.  The ZBA has the authority to hear and decide on petitions for: Appeals from the decisions of the Building Commissioner, Special Permits as allowed under the Medway Zoning Bylaw, Variances from the requirements of the Medway Zoning Bylaw and Comprehensive Permits under Chapter 40B of the Massachusetts General Laws.  Appointments to the ZBA are made by the Board of Selectmen.

Interested individuals may submit a letter of interest and their resume to the Community and Economic Development Department.  For questions, please contact Stephanie Mercandetti, Director of Community and Economic Development Department at (508) 321-4918 or via email at smercandetti@townofmedway.org
