Route 109 Transportation Improvement Project to Resume this Week

March 27, 2017

Drainage work will begin again this week and continue for several weeks.  Multiple crews may be working at two to three locations along the route.  This should have minimal impact on travel.  Two lanes will remain open until 9 am each day and work will be over for the day in time for the evening commute.

At some point in May there will be extensive work done at the intersection of Route 109 and Holliston Street with the construction of a retaining wall near the Charles River Bank.  Similarly, culvert work at Choate Park will be extensive.  This is likely to have a large impact on traffic getting through both the intersection and the Lincoln Street areas.

Reclamation work is scheduled to begin in June or July.  Jersey barriers will be placed along the construction route creating two lanes that will shift as work necessitates.  This will likely slow traffic along Route 109 significantly.

It is expected that 2017 road work will have a considerable impact on traffic in Medway.  Please support local businesses, but use alternative routes when appropriate.

As a reminder, there is a dedicated webpage for this project where you will find the latest updates.  The Town will also post weekly updates on social media.  You can also subscribe to receive weekly email updates.
