| RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PRIVATE FENCES 1. Boundary lines must first be established and agreed upon with abutters. 2. Where a dispute exists, land must be surveyed to establish boundaries, prior to fence installation. 3. When there is no dispute, landowner may proceed with installation of fencing. 4. Fencing shall be placed 17 inches within land boundary, to allow for future maintenance, and shall have a minimum set back from public roadways, of 4 feet, to allow for snow removal. 5. Fences installed at intersecting ways of streets shall not cause sight pollution. Motorists must have clear view to right and left. If a question arises, the Fence Viewer or Safety Officer should be contacted, prior to installation, to avoid the necessity of removal. 6. In all cases, the finished side of fences, where applicable, shall be facing the abutters property. 7. Barbed wire shall not be used within 6 feet of a pedestrian sidewalk, nor as boundary fences between properties, except in agricultural applications.
The installation of fences does not require a permit, however where questions arise, the Fence Viewer should be contacted to eliminate the necessity of costly removals or relocations. |

| You should call the station and set up a time to meet with Sgt. Boultenhouse to process the application form and to be printed and photographed. The initial intake process takes approximately 20 minutes. You will also need to pay the application fee. The application fee is one hundred dollars; however persons over the age of seventy are exempt. Individuals who apply for a limited FID card for the possession of mace or pepper spray pay only twenty five dollars |

| An FID Card of LTC will expire within 6 years from the date of issue. The Director of the Criminal History System Board will send a notice of expiration to the holder no less than 90 days before the date of expiration. |

| You can obtain a copy of your own Massachusetts criminal record by completing a Personal- Massachusetts Criminal Record Request Form. The form must be fully filled out and signed in front of a notary public. The form along with a check or money order for the amount of twenty-five dollars along with a self-addressed envelope should be mailed to the Criminal History Systems Board. You can obtain a copy of this form from the police department or from the police/town web site |

| You must fill out a Medway Police Department request for a police report form. The form can be obtained at the police station or on the town/police web site. Once the form is completed it is returned to the police department along with the five dollar fee. The request will be processed and if the report is available and can be released, it will be available within five working days. |
