When is Burning Season? Answer: January 15 through May 1, every year. However, the fire chief or Dept. of Fire Services reserve the right to cancel burning on any given day at their discretion.
What are your Permit Fees? Answer: Smoke & Carbon Monoxide - $50.00
Tank Removal - Commercial - $100.00
Transportation/Combustible Liquids - $50.00
Fire Reports - $5.00
All other permits - $25.00
How do I schedule a smoke and carbon monoxide detector inspection? Answer: You need to come to Station 1 (Headquarters) to fill out the application & schedule an appointment. Please bring with you a check payable to the Town of Medway in the amount of $50.00.
How do I get a burning permit? Answer: You need to go to the Medway Police Dept. at 315 Village St. and speak to the fire/police dispatcher and he/she will have you fill out a permit and assign you a number. At this time, there is no charge for burning permits. After you get your permit, you will be required to activate your permit number each and every time that you burn by calling the dispatcher at 508-533-3209. You may burn between 9am - 4pm however the Fire Chief has the right to cancel burning at any given time.
