Mission Statement:
The mission of the Design Review Committee (DRC) is to help develop Medway's natural, scenic and aesthetic qualities in a manner that reflects traditional New England architectural styles. The Design Review Committee (DRC) is appointed by the Planning & Economic Development Board to assist and advise the Board and its applicants with regard to the review of applications for subdivisions, site plans, special permits, sign permits, scenic road work permits, and other development proposals. The DRC is also available to assist Town departments and other boards and committees which may request its assistance. The DRC's recommendations are advisory and may include suggestions for modifications to proposed designs and conditions for approval of development proposals.
The Zoning Bylaw provides for the review of sign designs by the Design Review Committee before sign permits can be issued by the Meddway Building Department. Applications for sign design review and appointments with the DRC are scheduled through the Night Board Secretary.
In performing its work, the DRC is guided by the Medway Master Plan and by Design Review Guidelines which have been adopted and published by the Planning Board.
Design Review Committee Meetings:
Generally, the DRC meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m. The DRC holds its meetings in the conference room on the ground floor at the Medway Public LIbrary, 26 HIgh Street. The 2013 meeting schedule is posted on this page under DRC Links.
