FY 2011 PRELIMINARY TAX BILLS - Wednesday, May 26, 2010

FISCAL YEAR 2011 BEGINS JULY 1, 2010.  THE FIRST PRELIMINARY TAX BILL WERE SENT ON JUNE 30, 2010. THE BILL IS DUE ON AUGUST 2, 2010.  AUGUST 2ND IS A MONDAY.  THE TREASURER/COLLECTOR'S OFFICE IS OPEN FROM 8 A.M. UNTIL 7:30 P.M. ON MONDAYS. 

YOU MAY PAY YOUR BILL ON-LINE USING THE LINK ON THIS PAGE OR ON THE MAIN WEB PAGE. PAYING ON-LINE IS SECURE AND CONVENIENT. IT IS ALSO THE MOST COST-EFFECTIVE WAY FOR THE TOWN TO RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT.

THE TOWN OF MEDWAY ALSO PROVIDES YOU WITH TWO CONVENIENT DROP-OFFS; ONE AT THE CHARLES RIVER BANK AND THE OTHER IN FRONT OF TOWN HALL.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DROP OFF YOUR PAYMENT AT TOWN HALL AFTER HOURS ON THE DUE DATE, THE PAYMENT WILL BE CREDITED AS RECEIVED ON THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY.

Hotline for Help To Avoid Foreclosure/Tax Delinquency - Wednesday, December 17, 2008

If you are having difficulty or think you will have difficulty making your mortgage payments on your home OR if you have recently received a foreclosure notice, the NeighborWorks' HOPE Hotline is available to contact for help at:   (888) 995-4673 or at www.995hope.org.   Counselors on the HOPE Hotline are available 24 hours a day.

IF YOU ARE BEHIND ON YOUR TAXES:   The Town of Medway Treasurer/Collector's Office will work with you to establish a mutually agreeable payment plan for your taxes. Please email us at collector@townofmedway.org to begin the process.  Although it is our duty to actively collect past due taxes, we are here to help our citizens accomplish payment through a mutually agreeable plan. We are here to work with you.

Treasurer / Collector Minimize

 

The Collector of Taxes is responsible for the collection of taxes as committed to her by the Board of Assessors. All revenues are turned over to the Treasurer on a weekly basis. The Collector is responsible for the reconciliation of receipts and her receivable balances with the Town Accountant's general ledger. 

The Treasurer serves as the Town's cash manager. In this role, the Treasurer maintains all bank accounts and is responsible for investment and disbursement of funds. The Treasurer prepares the Town payroll and finalizes vendor checks for payment of the Town's bills.

The Treasurer facilitates and manages municipal borrowings and collects tax title accounts. The Treasurer is also responsible for reconciling all bank statements and for the cash reconciliation with the Town Accountant's general ledger.
