THE 2012 MOTOR VEHICLE EXCISE TAX BILLS WERE MAILED ON JANUARY 31, 2012.  THERE ARE NEARLY 13,000 BILLS IN THIS MAILING. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR BILL BY FEBRUARY 6TH, PLEASE EMAIL US FOR A COPY (EMAIL LINK ON THIS WEBPAGE). MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAW DOES NOT PERMIT WAIVER OF INTEREST OR FEES DUE TO FAILURE TO RECEIVE A BILL.

THE BILLS ARE DUE ON MARCH 1, 2012..   MARCH 1ST IS A THURSDAY. THE T/C OFFICE IS OPEN FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M. ON THURSDAYS. YOU MAY ALSO PAY THESE BILLS ON-LINE THROUGH THE LINK ON THIS PAGE OR USE ONE OF THE CONVENIENT DROP BOXES AT CHARLES RIVER BANK OR IN FRONT OF TOWN HALL. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU USE  THE TOWN HALL DROP BOX AFTER HOURS, YOU MUST DROP THE PAYMENT OFF THE DAY BEFORE THE DUE DATE TO BE CREDITED AS ON TIME..  PAYMENTS RECEIVED IN OUR DROP BOX AFTER HOURS ARE CREDITED FOR THE FOLLOWING DAY.

TOWN OF MEDWAY BOND RATING IMPROVED TO AA STABLE.

Standard & Poors has issued the Town of Medway an improved bond rating of AA Stable from AA-.  The improved rating is a recognition of Medway's continued improvement of its financial condition and building of its reserves.

THE TAX RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012 IS $17.48 PER THOUSAND.. THE RATE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE.

The Town of Medway will be offering the option of receiving your tax bill by Ebill soon.  This service will be provided through our on-line bill payment service, Unipay.  You will be able to sign up for Ebills through the Unipay site.   If you opt out of paper bills, you will not only have the convenience of an electronic bill that you can save, but you will also save the Town of Medway money.  For each paper bill that we can eliminate, we save real dollars.

IF YOU ARE BEHIND ON YOUR TAXES:   The Town of Medway Treasurer/Collector's Office will work with you to establish a mutually agreeable payment plan for your taxes. Although it is our duty to actively collect past due taxes, we are here to help our citizens accomplish payment through a mutually agreeable plan. We are here to work with you.

CHECKS WHICH HAVE BEEN ISSUED BY THE TOWN OF MEDWAY THAT ARE NOT CASHED AND DEEMED ABANDONED UNDER THE GENERAL LAWS OF MASSACHUSETTS CHAPTER 200A, SECTION 5 SHALL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE  AFTER THE 1ST OF JANUARY.  IF YOU ARE ON THE LIST, YOU MAY REBUT THE PRESUMPTION OF ABANDONMENT WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE DATE OF THE POSTING. YOU MAY ADDRESS AN INQUIRY CONCERNING THE ITEM TO THE TREASURER IN WRITING ,
